Aiden Pisano pulled off a "Steven Stamkos" hat trick (power play goal, short handed, even-stength) to help the U15 squad defeat the Islanders 5 - 4 Saturday afternoon.
The Islanders pulled out early as they scored two goals in the 1st period from Chase Barlow and Tanner Cole. Roland Cassells then made it 2 - 1 when he was able to convert on a power play goal against Cole Currier. Liam Doherty was able to get a short handed goal about 4 minutes into the 2nd period. Brett Anderson got the secondary assist. Pisano was able to get the first two goals on his power play about 7 minutes into the second period on the short hand from a Ben Wosko cross checking penalty that happened at the 5:53 mark into the 2nd. Pisano then converted on a power play about 14 minutes into the 2nd period. Tanner Cole got a roughing call at the 13:34 into the 2nd period. He was able to beat Cole Currier to make it 3 - 3. The Pics and Islanders each exchanged one goal in the 3rd period, and Aiden Pisano was able to break free 1:30 into the overtime period to put the Pics in the win column. Cole Currier stopped 32 out of 37 shots for the loss, while D'Artagnan Tapler stopped 27/31 shots, before being replaced by Aidan Houk who stopped all 8 shots he faced for the win. |
