The Springfield Pics are proud to announce the commitment of Pics goaltender Wyatt Friedlander to Worcester State University for the 2021-2022 season. He retains one more year of junior hockey eligibility. Wyatt posted an impressive 13 - 5 - 1 - 1 record, with only allowing 53 goals, finishing the season with a 2.65 Goals Against Average, and a .925 save percentage. Rob Bonneau, General Manger and Premier Head Coach was quoted at saying "Wyatt came to us from Bridgton Academy and Northwood Prep and it was extremely exciting to see him to develop into one of the top goalies in the Premier Division. Every time he was in the net, he gave our team a chance to win. Wyatt still has a season of Junior hockey eligibility, but is ready to play in college. We look forward to watching him help Worcester state win hockey games. "I am extremely honored to be able to play collegiate level hockey next year at Worcester State University. I appreciate Coach Bonneau and Coach Collins for everything that they have done this year. In spite of the pandemic, the coaches were able to make this year special and schedule many games. My billet family, the Fosters, made this year of Juniors even more amazing. I'm lucky that my mother and Aunt always supported and believed in me. I am grateful to have been a part of the Pics organization and to have learned from my teammates and goalie partner. I love the game of hockey and am honored that I can continue to play at the collegiate level. I'm excited to be playing for Coach Bonneau's previous coach, Coach Deraney, and carrying on the pics legacy at WSU." Friedlander was quoted when asked about his commitment. The Pics would like to congratulate Wyatt and wish him well in his hockey career. |
