Premier's take three out of four at Boston Junior Bruins shootout

Marlborough, MA - The Premier squad picked up three out of four wins during the Boston Junior Bruins Shoot, defeating the Jersey Whalers 5 - 2 on Friday, falling to the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs on Saturday 5 - 3,  defeating the Connecticut Junior Rangers 3 - 2 on Sunday morning, and defeated the Premier squad of their our NCDC Affiliate the Twin City Thunder, 3 - 1 on Sunday evening.

The Pics slammed the door on the Whalers late in the second half with three unanswered goals. Dominick Balboni scored first early in the game with an assist from Brock Baumann and Corey McNally.

The Whalers then slipped one past Pics goaltender Nick Digiacomo to even up the score at 1 a piece.

Baumann then returned the favor with assists from Balboni and McNally to make it 2 - 1.

Max Boulin from the Whalers evened up the score making it 2 a piece later on in the 2nd half.

Connor O'Brien then opened up the three goal rout on the power play with assists from Andrii Levtuhkov and McNally.

​Balboni scored a few minutes later with assists from Baumann and Nick Foster.

Benjamin Goring closed the door on the Whalers in the waining minutes of the half with and assist from Levtuhkov and Shu Inamura.

Digiacomo stopped 21 out of 23 shots for the win, while Whalers goaltender Justin Grenon stopped 36 out of 40 shots for the loss.

​Monarchs vs Pics Box Score

The Pics fell to the Monarchs Saturday, 5 - 3. 

The Monarchs scored twice early to set the tone, but the Pics struck back just a minute after the Monarchs scored their second goal as the Pics were able to get the goal in while on the penalty kill. 

It was a back and forth battle, with each side scoring opposite goals, but in the end the Pics fell 5  - 3.

Pics vs Connecticut Junior Rangers Box Score

Two quick goals early in the first set the tone for the Pics as they defeated the Rangers 3 - 2 Sunday morning.

Sean Donoghue netted his first goal when he was able to slip the puck between Rangers' goaltender Bryce Dunnigan's legs to make it 1 - 0

Baumann was able to get the puck in through traffic to make it 2 - 0 with an assist from McNally and O'Brien.

The Rangers struck back early in the 2nd half, but Connor Matthews was able to net the insurance goal at the half way point of the 2nd half.

The Rangers tried to swing momentum with a goal late in the 2nd half, but the Pics held tough to defeat the Rangers 3 - 2.

McNally, Wilson, and O'Brien each scored goals, while Tullo had two assists and Carter Brunelle had one assist as the Pics defeated the Thunder to close out their weekend in Marborough. Digiacamo stopped 23 out of 24 shots for the win. The Pics scored all three of their goals while on the power play.
