GAME REPORT
It was a back and forth battle between the Premiere squad and IHC, but the Pics defeated IHC in overtime 3 - 2 due to a breakaway opportunity. Aaron Cholewa opened up the game with a goal about a third of the way into the 1st period when he got a deflection from Joe Bouchard, who intercepted a pass at center ice. Cholewa broke up and made a long distance shot that got through the goaltender to make it 1 - 0. Tyler Wilson got the secondary assist.
The Islanders put one on the board in the 2nd period, but the Pics were able to get back in the lead late in the 2nd period when Nick Foster got a quick little pop up deflection from Coleson Hanrahan. Foster was able to get the shot though on a soft shot that slipped past the goaltender high glove side to make it 2 - 1. Shu Inamura was credited with the secondary assist.
IHC tied it up half way though the 3rd period, but Foster used his experience to set himself up in a key position while IHC attempted to do a substitution while action was going on, and was able to get a pass from Sean Donoghue. Foster was alone verses the goaltender and beat him with a backhand shot, giving the Pics the overtime win.
Ben Zaranek picked up the win, stopping 17 out of 19 shots.
