U15 The U15 squad captured their first home victory of the season in an exhibition game 6 - 1 against an injury depleted Islanders Hockey Club Saturday afternoon in front of a friendly crowd that included players and fans of the Boston Hockey League, which was wrapping up semi-final action at the Olympia. The Islanders struck first with just over five minutes remaining in the 1st period when Green was able to slip one past the goaltender. Russel Soja was able to capture his first Pics goal with just under a minute expired in the 2nd period. Chase Stebbins was credited with the assist. Jared Ritter was able to notch a second one on the scoreboard for the Pics halfway into the 2nd period. Cole Davis was credited with the assist. Davis added an insurance goal just a minute and a half into the 3rd period, with the assists being credited to Logan Carpenter and Chase Stebbins. Cole Brandon slammed the door on IHC just two minutes later as he got a pass from Ben Daniels and deposited it between the pipes. The Pics added two more in the waning minutes of the game to make the final score 6 – 1. IHC outshot the Pics 31 – 30. The Pics killed off three out of four penalties, while IHC killed off two out of three penalties. U16 Penalty killing was the name of the game, as the U16 squad offensively dominated against the U16 squad of the Islanders Hockey Club 6 – 1, as the Pics killed off all 8 penalties, and converted on 3 out of 5 of the IHC penalties. Hunter Stockseth deposited the first Pics goal with just over three minutes remaining in the 1st period with an unassisted tally. Coleson Hanrahan got the Pics first power play goal of the game just under a minute later with a feed from Ken Cartee and Pics newcomer Radzivika Bahdan. Aiden Pisano deposited the puck between the pipes with just under two minutes expired in the 2nd period, when he got a feed from Chris Calvanese and Rob Trigilio to make it 3 – 0. Hanrahan got his second of the game at the halfway point of regulation on the powerplay, notching his second power play goal with a feed from Aiden Barbee. Hanrahan notched his first hat trick of the year at just under a minute expired in the 3rd period when he got the feed from Trigilio to make it 5 – 0. The Islanders were able to spoil the shutout at the 13:57 mark of the 3rd period making it 5 – 1. Trigilio was able to exact revenge just a minute and a half later, with a feed from Hanrahan making it 6 – 1. The Pics outshot the Islanders 66 – 11. U18/Elite
-EDITORS NOTE: This game was played with two 25-minute periods- Nick Disanti notched his first hat trick of the season as the Elite/U18 squad dominated the Worcester Junior Railers 6 – 1 on Saturday night in exhibition action. Disanti notched back-to-back goals, one just a minute and a half into regulation (which was a power play goal), and another just 4 minute later to make it 2 – 0. Chris Foster and Aiden Grabowski were credited with assists on the second goal. Lucas Petone of the Railers spoiled the shutout midway through the 1st half with a feed from Drew Breen to make it 2 – 1. Disanti exacted revenge just over a minute into the second half as he notched his hat trick with a feed from Foster to make it 3 – 1 as he slipped it past the goaltender. Nickolas Starosielski made it 4 – 1 when he got a breakout feed from Nick Zanin. Zack Fox notched is first goal of his Elite team career when he got the feed from Foster and Disanti to make it 5 – 1. Foster made it 6 – 1 with a deposit with just under a minute remaining in regulation. The Pics killed off all their penalties and were only able to convert on one of their power plays. |
