The Premier squad traveled to Auburn, ME on Saturday afternoon and picked up the victory up at the Norway Bank Savings Arena, defeating the Thunder 5 - 1. Connor O'Brien opened up the scoring early in the 1st when he chipped the puck in top glove side off a feed from Nick Foster. Matthew Tullo was credited with the secondary assist. Aaron Cholewa made it 2 - 0 just three minutes later when he got an arrant clear from Thunder goaltender Brett Tome and deposited it into the opposite corner. Nicholas Rodrigues and Dominick Balboni got credit for the assists on the forecheck. O'Brien made it 3 - 0 on the short hand when he grabbed the loose puck due to a missed drop pass and brought up the puck all alone, and put in a backhand shot. Foster and Luc Fricchione were credited with assists. Balboni made it 4 - 0 just ten minutes later when he poked the loose puck in off a rebound. Joe Bouchard and O'Brien were credited with the assists. Matthew Tullo made it 5 - 0 when he got the clearing pass and went up unopposed and put the puck between the legs of the goaltender. O'Brien and Foster got the assists. Pics goaltender Ben Zaranek was able to stop his first penalty shot as a Pic when he successfully stopped a Gavin Simopoulos attempt 8 minutes into the 2nd period. The Thunder did get one with just under two minutes left in the 2nd period, but the Pics held the line to defeat them 5 - 1. Zaranek stopped 33 shots in the win. The Thunder travel to the Olympia this Saturday for a 4pm game.
