The Pics met up with the Aviators and defeated them 7 – 1 on Sunday afternoon, to take 3 out of 4 games at the Hitmen showcase. Tyler Genovese opened up the scoring just five minutes into the game when he got a feed from Simon Higgins, and tried passing it to an open defensemen, but the puck hit Aviator’s goaltender Anthony Scocozza’s back and bounced across the goal line. Kevin Avery got credit for the secondary assist. Illia Solodzhuk got the only goal for the aviators ten minutes later. Devin Harrison and Evan Oginsky got the assists. Brigham Dubey got what would end up to be the game winning goal just three minutes into the second period when be brought the puck up the length of the ice and did what Genovese did to make it 2 – 1. Higgins and Aiden Grabowski got the assists. Genovese got his second, the Pics third goal of the game when he grabbed the rebound and deposited it in the back of the net. Braeden Humphrey and Higgins got the assists. Zack Fox got onto the scoresheet when he got the puck in through a scrum in front of the net to make it 4 – 1. Nick Disanti and Chris Foster got the assists. Disanti got his first goal of the game when he went top shelf against Scocozza through a mess of players to make it 5 – 1. Genovese and Higgins got the assists. Bryce St. Martin got credited for the 6th goal when Scocoza kicked it into his own net trying to block a shot. Humphrey and Liam Andersen were credited with the assists. Nick Zanin closed out the scoring frenzy when he knocked in the rebound from a shot. Dubey and Humphrey were credited with assists. Aviators goaltender Anthony Scocozza stopped 34 out of 41 shots in the loss, while Pics goaltender Noah Behrens-Gould stopped 15 out of 16 shots for the win.
