The Pics skated into South Shore on a three game winning streak, and skated out with a season tying winning streak at four games, defeating the South Shore Kings 3 - 2 on Wednesday afternoon.
It took a period and a quarter for the first goal to be scored, and it was the Pics who scored when Kings goaltender Jagger Maving skated behind his net to play the puck, and got in the way of Matthew Tullo, and got called for interference. While on the delayed penalty, the puck got loose and found it's way to the stick of Aaron Cholewa. Cholewa passed it off to Corey McNally who placed it in the back of the near empty net as Maving was out of position.
Samuel Meyer stuck back just 3 minutes later, but Alexei Filimonov continued his point streak in the opening minute of the 3rd period when he got the puck from Connor O'Brien and got around the defender and deposited the puck high glove side. Tullo was credited with the assist.
The Kings tied it up just past the half way point of the 3rd period, but Tullo was able to capitalize on a loose puck while on the blue line forcheck on the penalty kill and went down the ice and scored on the shorthand tally. Dominick Balboni and Nick Foster were credited with assists.
Landry Laird stopped 24 out of 26 shots in the win. The Pics face the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs on Saturday at 6pm at the Olympia for the last home game before Thanksgiving.
