Islanders double up on the Pics 6 - 3

The Springfield Pics fell to the Islanders 6 - 3 on Thursday afternoon in Merrimack, MA. 

The Islanders stuck twice in the 1st period, but the Pics struck back in the 2nd period when Matthew Tullo got the cross ice pass from Joe Bouchard and got one-on-one with the goaltender to make it 2 - 1. Joe Bouchard and Connor O'Brien were credited with the assists.

The Islanders stuck back early in the 3rd period, but the Pics got another one when Tyler Wilson was able to get the puck in through traffic in front of the net to make it 3 - 2. Brock Baumann and O'Brien were credited with assists.

The Islanders scored two, but the Pics scored one more in the waining minutes of regulation when Nico Rodrigues found the loose puck and deposited it in the back of the net after a minor scrum. Aaron Cholewa and Gabriel Gosselin were credited with assists.

Nick Digiacomo stopped 39 out of 45 shots in the loss for the Pics
