Former PICS player Bill Guerin now GM for Minnesota

Bill Guerin formerly of our own Springfield PICS (1985-1989) has been named General Manager of the NHL Pro team Minnesota Wild. Previously Bill Guerin was with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization serving as Assistant Coach as well as player development coach. 

Guerin's Junior hockey career started with our PICS organization under coach Dinneen, which put him on the path to becoming the New Jersey's Devils first round pick in the 1989 NHL draft placing him 5th overall in the draft class for that year. Guerin's career as a professional player lasted 24 years with over 1300 games which included two Stanley Cup Championships as a coach with the Pittsburgh Penquins in 2016 and 2017. ​
