Ray Picard picked up his first league shutout of his Elite career, second of his Pics career as the Pics shut out the Bandits 3 – 0 on Saturday afternoon at the Olympia.
Neither team scored in the first period, as the battle went back and forth with only one penalty being called. Zack Fox broke the scoreless battle when he and Martin Rudolf went on a two on one with an initial feed from James Delaney Rudolf went down the right-hand side wing and found Fox, who was on the left-hand side. Fox got Bandits goaltender Luca Bruns to commit to the near post and Fox deposited the puck high, glove side.
Sean Ferus got the insurance goal just under 5 minutes into the 3rd period when he got a feed from Brandon Shuman . Ferus got pushed off the puck but got it back and a three-on-one got developed and Ferus was able to put it up over the diving defensemen and into the back of the net low. Kevin Avery was credited with the secondary assist.
Fox made it 3 – 0 when he caught the rebound off of Bruns when Braeden Humphrey shot it, and it hit off of Bruns and Fox was right at the post to deposit it. Rudolf got the secondary assist.
Picard stopped all 24 shots he faced, while Bruns stopped 34 out of 37 shots.
