The Springfield Pics struck first in the back and forth battle, but the Pics came out victorious after Dominick Balboni cashed in on two scoring opportunities. Paud O'Brien was able to cash in first when he positioned himself in front of the net to receive a pass from the corner from Seth Chernik who got the puck from Zach Shupe. O'Brien got the pass and put it between the legs of Bandits goaltender Will Hanly. The Bandits struck back just three minutes later with a goal from Seamus O'Donnell. The Pics though struck back via Bryce St. Martin when his shot kicked off the skate of Hanly and into the back of the net. Eli Boyle and Felix Appelt are both credited with assists. The Bandits then were able to put up two unanswered goals in the 3rd period to take the lead briefly until just before the half way point in the 3rd period when Eli Boyle was able to take the puck away from a Bandits player and go bar down shortly after the faceoff at the start of a power play favoring the Pics. Bryce St. Martin and Connor Cognac (were credited with the assists. Shane Coen for the Bandits was able to put the Bandits back on top with just 7 and a half minutes left in the 3rd period, but the Pics were not done yet. Seamus O'Donnell got called for a penalty and the Pics went on the power play. With just two minutes left, Pics goaltender Quinn Sullivan was pulled for the extra attacker to make it a 6 on 4 ice strength. Just seconds after the penalty expired, Dominick Balboni was able to bring the puck in and dragged it past the goaltender and tied the game with a minute remaining. Paud O'Brien and Felix Appelt were credited with the assists. The overtime period had some fireworks early into the period when Jack St. Pierre got called for a major penalty for cross checking when he skated into a prone Balboni who was playing the puck in the corner. Dominick Balboni was able to capitalize on the major power play when he was able to deposit the puck into the back of the net when he made a shot from his defensive position between the blue line and near faceoff dot. Paud O'Brien and Connor Cognac were both credited with the assists. Pics goaltender Quinn Sullivan netted his first win, stopping 45 out of 49 shots. Bandits goaltender Will Hanly stopped 47 out of 52 shots for the loss.
