U15’s Weekend about Finding Identity
by Ed Meyer Springfield, Ma: The U15’s Springfield Pics spent the weekend finding out who they are as a team. After winning the first game of the year, the Pics dropped the next two games but came away understanding their roster and what to focus on in the upcoming weekend of games. The Pics returning players of Talar (3G, 2A), and Ritter (2G, 2A) were the teams top producing forwards while newcomers Hoyt and Savaira chipped in for a goal a piece as well. Newcomer and backstop Matthew Lyons of Chicago, Illinois notched the Pics first win from game 1 while Mathew Persci, native of Wilkes Bare, Pennsylvania and Dylan Messier of Swansea, Massachusetts delivered both offensive push and defensive grit. The 15’s get back to practice this week to prepare for their weekend match up vs. IHC at the Olympia in West Springfield. U16 Squad battled hard, but fell in the end The U16 squad battled hard, defeating the South Shore Kings 7 - 1 on Friday night, then the Greater Boston League Bruins 7 - 5 on Saturday morning, they fell 3 - 0 against the Washington Little Capitals on Saturday afternoon, and CP Dynamo 4 - 2 on Sunday morning.
