Nick Foster got the Pics first goal in the matchup against the Utica Junior Comets, and he also got the game winning penalty shot after being tripped on a breakaway opportunity, to have the Pics skate out victorious of game one of the South Shore Kings showcase, 3 - 2.
Foster potted the puck in the back of the net with a mess of players in front of the slot, and he was able to deposit the wrap around to make it 2 - 1. Sean Donoghue and Matthew Tullo were credited with the assists.
With just under a minute left in regulation, and with the goaltender pulled, Dominick Balboni was able to get the game tying goal when he was able to chip it in after a couple blocked shots. Tullo and Brock Baumann were credited with the assists.
Foster was able to convert on the penalty shot attempt early in the overtime period after being dragged down by the far post.
The Bruins scored early in the 1st, but Sean Donoghue scored all three of the Pics goals to give the Pics the 3 - 1 victory on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bruins scored first early, and set the tone off a deflection goal, but the puck deflected off of Sean Donoghue's skate and went on in to tie the game up at 1. Coleson Hanrahan and Tyler Wilson were credited with the assists.
Donoghue made it 2 - 1 just 5 minutes later when he grabbed his own rebound and made the second shot count. Wilson and Nicholas Rodrigues got the assists.
Donoghue sealed the natural hat-trick, and the game when he sunk a point-blank shot from right in front of the net, as the Pics closed in the pentagon while on the powerplay. Wilson and Connor O'Brien got the assists.
Ben Zaranek stopped 25 out of 26 shots for the win, putting him on a 4-game winning streak.
After being shut out at home on Saturday, the Pics struck back against the Cyclones and defeated them 3 - 1 up in New Hampshire.
Chris Foster opened up the scoring as he picked the pocket of a Cyclones defender and went in alone and went backhand forehand and tucked it past the goaltender who was coming out to shut down a lane.
Martin Rudolf got what would end up being the game winning goal with just under three and a half minutes remaining in regulation when he popped the puck in a loft shot up and over the goaltender and bounced off of him and in the net.
Martin Rudolf ended up getting an empty net goal with a few seconds remaining to make the score 3 - 1.
Ray Picard stopped 41 out of 42 shots for the win.
Ben Zaranek stopped all 33 shots he faced tonight, as the Pics skated away with the 1 - 0 shutout on Saturday night in front of the faithful crowd at the Olympia Ice Center. Felix Appelt got the puck after a miscue by a Monarch player and brought it down the glove side of the Monarch's goaltender and lit the lamp for this 3rd goal of the season. Luc Fricchione and Connor Matthews both contributed on the play.
Both teams put on the pressure to score, but both goaltenders stood their ground and allowed no further goals. With the win, the Pics moved to 21 - 16 - 0 - 0 - 1, while the Monarchs moved to 18 - 14 - 1 - 0 - 1.
Shu Inamura netted his first goal as a Pic and give and go passes were the name of the game as the Pics shut down the Kings 5 - 2 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Kings struck first while on the penalty kill a 3rd of the way through the 1st period but the Pics struck back on a give-and-go play just 15 seconds later when Benjamin Goring was breaking down the near side and caught the pass from Connor O'Brien and one timed it into the net. Andrii Ievtukhov was credited with the secondary assist.
Shu Inamura netted his first career goal as a Pics when he won the race with Connor Matthews verses two defenders. Matthews gave the puck off to Inamura who put the puck in the back of the net before hitting the breaks and sliding down on the ice. Benjamin Goring was credited with the secondary assist.
Matthew Tullo got the Pics' third goal when he got the pass from a breaking Aaron Cholewa. Luc Fricchione was credited with the secondary assist.
Brock Baumann made it 4 - 1 when he got the rebound from a shot from Luc Fricchione. Corey McNally won the face off and dished it off to Fricchione and was credited with the secondary assist.
Alexei Filimonov got the goal off an eventual two on none when he got the pass from a turnover and Connor Matthews picked up the loose puck. Felix Appelt was credited with the secondary assist.
Ben Zaranek stopped 39 out of 41 shots for the win.
The Bandits and Pics skated to a 4 - 4 tie due to ice conditions on Sunday afternoon. The Bandits struck twice in the 1st period, but the Pics struck back at the 5:55 mark of the second period when Brandon Shuman potted one in from the far corner near the face off dot. Matus Vojtech and Martin Rudolf were credited with the assists.
Brigham Dubey got the game tying goal at two apiece when he got a quick wrister off. Bryce St. Martin and Simon Higgins were credited with the assists.
The Bandits scored twice to make it a two-goal game, but Simon Higgins made it a one goal game when he got the centering pass from Bryce St. Martin off a rebound attempt. Brigham Dubey was credited with the secondary assist.
Brigham Dubey netted his 2nd of the game, which tied the game, when he caught the goaltender on the opposite side of the net while the Pics were on the powerplay. He got the quick pass from Nick Disanti. DJ Velez was credited with the secondary assist.
Shortly after the goal, the game was called due to poor ice conditions over on the Bandits end by the Zamboni door. Noah Behrens-Gould stopped 20 out of 23 shots, and Jack Messing stopped 25 out of 26 shots for the tie.
The Pics scored 7 times to defeat the Bandits 7 - 5 on Sunday (1/23). Simon Higgins was able to make it 1 - 0 after getting the puck in the back of the net off a pop up shot that deflected up and went into the back of the net. Brigham Dubey and Parker Donahue were credited with the assists.
Brandon Shuman got in the first of three goals he scored in the game just a few minutes later when Martin Rudolf got the pass off to Shuman who was breaking down the opposite side. Simon Higgins was credited with the secondary assist.
Shuman got his 2nd goal of the game with a give and go pass series from Bryce St. Martin and Andrej Vojtech. St. Martin served as the decoy in the end of the series.
Andrej Vojtech netted his first goal as a Pic when he got the rebound from a Liam Andersen shot. Sean Ferus got the assist.
Kevin Avery made it 4 - 0 with a soft shot through traffic. Nick Disanti and Chris Foster got the assists.
Shuman got his hat trick when he was able to get the shot off from the blue line right next to the Pics bench. Chris Foster and Nick Disanti were credited with the assists.
Chris Foster made it 7-5 when be brought the puck down the wing on the near side and dragged the puck up and ovet the goaltender. Nick Disanti and Brandon Shuman were credited with the assists.
Jack Messing stopped 30 out of 35 shots in the win.
Three special teams' goals helped seal the deal on the Pics victory on Sunday afternoon (1/23) against the Advantage.
Luc Fricchione got his first goal of the season and started off the scoring fest just a minute into the game while the Pics were on an early power play. Fricchione got the pass from Brock Baumann and spun around and put the puck in mid-glove side. Joe Bouchard got the secondary assist.
Sean Donoghue made it 2 - 0 while the Pics were on the penalty kill. Donoghue was able to get the puck off a turnover and brought the puck in himself and beat the goaltender low stick side on a soft shot. Tyler Wilson and Joe Bouchard got the assists.
Alexei Filimonov made it 3 - 0 when he got the pass off the board and went in one on one against the goaltender. Filimonov went cross side and put in a backhand shot attempt. Aaron Cholewa and Connor O'Brien got the assists.
Donoghue was able to convert on a penalty shot attempt to make it 4 - 0.
The Advantage were able to get two on the board, but the Pics struck back and got two of their own in a row.
Tyler Wilson made it 5 - 2 with a near goal line shot. O'Brien and Andrii Ievtukhov both got credited with assists.
Corey McNally got the redirect shot right in the slot to make it 6 - 2. Joe Bouchard and Dominick Balboni were both credited with the assists.
Ben Zaranek stopped 22 out of 24 shots for the win.
The Pics and the Cyclones battled back and forth on Saturday night, but it was the Cyclones who skated away victoriously after two power play goals in the 2nd period that swung momentum their way.
The Cyclones scored twice early in the 1st period, but Brock Baumann was able to knock in the power play goal in the waning seconds of the 1st period after a tic-tac-toe pass from Dominick Balboni. Joe Bouchard was credited with the secondary assist.
Sean Roach was able to tie up the game right off an offense zone draw with a snipe from the blue line. Alexei Filimonov and Carter Brunelle were credited with the assists.
The Cyclones tacked two more on to make it 4 - 2, but Tyler Wilson scored on the breakaway opportunity. Sean Donoghue and Balboni were credited with the assists.
Jacob Brown stopped 35 out of 41 shots in the loss.
The Cyclones had four early goals, three in the first period to set the tone early and skated away with the victory on Saturday afternoon.
Simon Higgins took away the shutout from the Cyclones early in the 3rd period on the shorthand when Matus Vojtech was able to poke the puck free from a Cyclones defender, and Higgins was able to one time it past the Cyclones goaltender to spoil the shutout. Nick Zanin was credited with the secondary assist.
Brigham Dubey cut the score in half just ten minutes later while going after the loose puck and was able to put it across the goal line. Vojtech and Chris Foster were credited with the assists.
