Five unanswered goals give the Pics eight in a row

The Springfield Pics put up five unanswered goals in a massive come from behind victory against the Boston Junior Bruins on Sunday afternoon, to win 6-5 in overtime.

The Bruins started the scoring at the 9:04 mark of the first with an unassisted goal from Bryce Chaput.

The Pics got it right on back just three minutes later with a goal from Luke James. Julian Perino and Ethan Cervonayco were credited with the assists.

The Bruins then scored four unanswered goals. Luke Lonneman had two goals, Ian Carpentier and Brandon Cope had one each. Peter Nugent had three assists, Brandon Cope had two. Trevor Lawler and Adam Romano had one assist each.

The Pics then opened up the scoring on their end just two minutes into the 3rd period, in which Noah Palmer got his first career goal. Nick Heminger and Brandon Derdiger got the assists.

Gene Bouthiette then added two to his league leading goal stat. Mike Wilson had two assists, Noe Turdjamnn and Luke James had an assist each.

Josh Miller then tied it up with just 15 seconds left to go in regulation off a feed from Gene Bouthiette in which both teams had their goaltender pulled.

Miller then got the game winning goal 2:30 into overtime off a feed from Mike Wilson.

The win puts the Pics in second place in the Northeast Division.
