Pics sweep Cyclones

The 18U team defeated the Northern Cyclones 3-2 on Friday (game moved up from Saturday) at an “away at home” game in overtime, and won again on Sunday 10-1 at the Olympia.

Friday's night game started with the Cyclones lighting the lamp first. Jacob Howell  struck first at the 8:59 mark of the 1st. Jacob Pellerin got credited with the assist. The Cyclones then added another one at the 2:51 mark of the 2nd. Ben Peterson scored. Josh Connor and Tobin Winslow were credited with the assists.

The Pics then got on the board at the waining moments of the 2nd period. Nico Rodrigues lit the lamp at the 16:05 mark. Matyas Welser and Lukas Skvarek were credited with the assists.

Brenden Meyer then tied it up at the 10:51 mark of the 3rd. Max Moriarty and Brock Baumann were credited with the assist.

In the overtime period, the Pics put it away. Grant Linville got rung up for roughing and Jon Clement was serving it for him at the :23 mark of the overtime period. Brock Baumann made them pay shortly after the power play expired at the 2:26 mark. Jack Birecki and Mark McClure were credited with the assist.

Sunday's night game was a completely different story, as the Pics opened up with a 6-0 run.

Brock Baumann opened up the scoring less than a minute into the game. Brenden Meyer and Jack McGrath were credited with the assists. Not even three minutes later Mark McClure lit the lamp during the penalty kill. Brenden Meyer and Jack McGrath were credited with the assists as well.

The Pics then scored again 1:32 into the 2nd period. Matyas Welser lit the lamp, Lukas Skvarek and Nico Rodrigues were credited with the assists.

Brack Baumann then scored on the power play at the 3:53 mark of the 2nd, Brenden Meyer and Max Moriarty were credited with the assists. Lukas Skvarek scored on the power play 8:46 into the 2nd. Brenden Meyer and Brock Baumann got the assists.

About a minute into the 3rd, the Pics struck again. Brenden Meyer lit the lamp on the power play. Max Moriarty and Matyas Welser were credited with the assists.

The Cyclones finally got on the board 3:16 into the 3rd. Ben Peterson got the goal on the penalty kill. Chris Curtis was given the assist.

The Pics got it back 20 seconds later. Nick Lopes lit the lamp off feeds from Dan French and Brock Baumann on the power play. The Pics then scored less than 20 seconds later. Dan French got the goal, Jack McGrath and Nick Lopes were credited with the assists.

Chase Reynolds then added to the scoring at the 5:35 mark of the 3rd. Mark McClure and Rasmus Persson got the assists.

Matyas Welser ended the scoring at the 12:03 mark of the 3rd. Brenden Meyer and Lukas Skvarek got the assists.

The Pics are off until January 11th, when they face the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs at the friendly confines of the Olympia at 8:10 pm
