The Premier team swept the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack 5-2 on Saturday at the Olympia Ice Arena, and 4-3 at the Champions Skating Center in overtime.
Matt Gerst got the first goal at the 4:38 mark of the first period. Noe Turdjmann and Gene Bouthiette were credited with the assists. Gene Bouthiette lit the lamp at the 16:46 mark of the first. Mike Wilson and Noe Turdjmann were credited with the assists. Josh Miller got what would be the game winning goal just 49 seconds into the second period. Matt Gerst was credited with the assist. With that goal, Wolfpack goaltender Kampersal was pulled and Yonatan Reisinger was sent in. Dom Ingham then got the insurance goal at 8:37 of the second. Brandon Derdiger and Noah Palmer were credited with the assists.
The Wolfpack lit the lamp for the first time at the 8:25 mark of the third. Stephen Thibault got credited with the goal. Noah Gold and Riley Lavoie got credited with the assists.
The Pics then put one more on the board with a goal from John Arcisziwski at the 15:27 mark. The Wolfpack then got the last goal of the game at the 18:54 mark of the 3rd. Riley Lavoie.
The two teams met again the following day.
Vinnie McAllister lit the lamp first on Sunday afternoon at the 1:35 mark of the 2nd. Cory Scull was credited with the assist.
Josh Miller returned the favor at the 6:16 mark. Jan Larsen was credited with the assist.
Zach Henkin then lit the lamp at the 7:35 mark of the 2nd. Quinn Sandor and Vinnie McAllister were credited with the assist.
Recent USPHL Player of the Week Gene Bouthiette then lit the lamp to tie it up at the 3:59 mark of the 3rd. Mike Wilson was credited with the assist
Sam Wyland then lit the lamp in return at the 7:39 mark. Cory Scull and Quinn Sandor got the assists.
John Moffat was rung up for tripping in the final two minutes of the 3rd. Action was kept down on the Pics offensive zone and the Pics took the chance and pulled Trent Pratt with under a minute to go. That gamble pulled off when Ethan Cervonayco tied it up after feeds from Josh Bliss and Noe Turdjmann.
Gene Bouthiette then sealed the win in overtime in the first minute after a feed from Mike Wilson.
With the win, the Pics enter the holiday break in third place, two points away from second. The Premier team plays again the first weekend in January at a showcase at the New England Sports Center along side the Elite squad.
