Two Pics players have made Player of Week for the game week ending December 10th.

Forward: Gene Bouthiette

Bouthiette (‘99/Enfield, Conn.) is a career Springfield Jr. Pics player and the Premier team’s captain this season. Over the three games Springfield played between Dec. 6 and 9, Bouthiette posted eight points, including goals in each of the three games. He scored two goals and added three assists in the Pics’ Saturday 5-2 win over the Junior Bruins, a single-game high for points even for a guy who’s racked up 26 goals and 47 points in 26 games.

He scored the only goal in a 3-1 loss to the Islanders Hockey Club, and a goal and an assist in the 2-1 win over the Junior Bruins on Sunday.

Goalie: Trent Pratt

Springfield is definitely upping the ante, moving into a playoff position with a 6-4 run in its last 10 games, and the Pics are now tied for third in the Northeast Division, thanks to two recent wins against the Junior Bruins.

The first of those victories saw an amazing 45-save performance on 47 shots by Pratt (‘99/Woodbridge, Va.), who is undefeated in his last three starts stretching back to Oct. 28. From that night to early December, he has stopped 98 of the last 102 shots he’s faced for a .961 save percentage
