The first official weekend of play is in the books for Premier and Elite teams. Premier went 1-2-0, while Elite went 0-3-1.
PREMIER: The Premier team went 1-2 on the weekend at the Junior Bruins Shootout, falling to the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs 4-1 on Friday, September 21 and then losing a 2-1 heartbreaker to the Syracuse Stars the following day before overcoming a 2-0 deficit to win a shootout, 3-2, against the Connecticut Junior Rangers on Sunday. Among the Pics' top performers were Noe Turdjmann, who scored against the Monarchs and Stars, and Gene Bouthiette, who tallied a goal and an assist on the weekend.
ELITE: The Elite team played four games over the three days, falling 5-1 on Friday to the Monarchs, then losing two on Saturday to the Boston Bandits by scores of 7-0 and 9-2, and then dropping a 5-4 overtime decision to Team Beijing on Sunday. Gavin Rock had a goal and an assist over the weekend, while his brother Colin had a pair of helpers in the defeat against Team Beijing.
NEXT UP: Premier will hit the road again, as they visit the Twin City Thunder on Friday, September 28 and Saturday, September 29; Elite is home on the 29th, facing off against the Northern Cyclones at 6:00 p.m.
