WEST SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts--The Springfield Pics are proud to announce that forward Anthony Frati has committed to Kings College for this fall. The Rochester, New York native scored three goals and added four assists for seven points while contributing a physical presence in his 44 games this season for the Pics.
“Playing for the Pics was important to my development. I couldn’t have done this without my coaches or family,” he said of his time in Springfield.
Kings College is just beginning their program, with the first season set for 2017-18. The opportunity to help a program get off the ground was important to Frati. “I’m excited to start my next four years with Kings. It’s a new program and a place I feel I can make an impact on,” he said.
Frati will be the first Pics alumnus to play for Kings College.
“I’d like to congratulate Anthony and his family on this accomplishment. Anthony came to us from the Rochester Americans program purely looking for an opportunity. He came to Springfield and took advantage of everything that we had to offer on and off the ice to improve not only as a player, but as a person as well. He was a player that we identified based on his size and he has continually improved, becoming a power forward with improved skating, puck-handling, and work ethic. For a first year program, you couldn’t ask for a better player to build a winning tradition around. We wish him the best of luck,” Pics head coach and general manager Patrick Tabb said.
