Nick Disanti nabs his first career hat trick with the Pics

The Springfield Pics defeated the Jersey Shore Whalers Saturday afternoon 9-6 in a penalty-filled game, which included four-game misconducts across two teams.

The Pics and Whalers went back and forth through two periods until Jacob Butler for the Whalers got called for a series of penalties, along with Charlie Pallitto putting the Pics on an extended power play, in which the Pics scored three times during the power play, plus an additional even-strength unanswered goal.

The Whalers then tried bringing it closer with two goals, until the Pics put two more in the final two minutes to shut the door. Colin Sherwood was credited with stopping 31 out of 37 shots in the win.
