Weekend Preview

PREMIER

The Premier squad closes out their 5 game home-stand with two games against the Jersey Shore Whalers (1-5-1) in a cross-division matchup at the Olympia. The Whalers are coming off a tough loss against the New York Aviators, which they lost 15-0 last night. This is the first time these two teams faced each other. The Pics are coming off a close win against the South Shore Kings, 3-2 last Saturday night. Max Moriarty got the game-winning goal with just under a minute to go in regulation to get the Pics to pick up the win.

The top point scorer on the Whalers is James Dravage, who is averaging a little over a point a game. The remaining players have not played enough games with the team. The Pics have six players who are averaging over a point a game, with Lukas Radina averaging close to 1.75 points a game.

The Premier squad then go on a brief three-game road trip, with returning to the Olympia on November 3rd, against the Boston Bandits.

ELITE

The Elite squad is facing the Bandits for the 1st time this year. The Elite squad is coming off a tough overtime loss against the Northern Cyclones, which spoiled their 5 game winning streak. The Bandits are looking to continue their three-game winning streak, after coming off a 4-1 win against the Rockets Hockey Club. 

The top point scorers on the Bandits are Robert Byrne, who has appeared in all ten games for the Bandits at 8 points (.80 ppg), Dylan Hernandez-Ramierz at 6 points (.75 ppg), and Lazarus Ritter at 5 points (1.25 ppg). The Pics top point scorers are Connor O’Brien at 10 points (1.43 ppg), Luc Ficchione at 9 points (1.29 ppg), and tied at 8 points are Derek Boutin and Paud O’Brien (1.14 ppg). 

The Elite squad then stay home for one more game against the Northern Cyclones, which is the features game of the week on HockeyTV next Saturday.

U16

The U16 squad is facing the Islanders Hockey Club on Sunday for the first time this year. The Pics are coming off a pair of wins against the Cyclones, 2-1 and 10-3 respectively. The Islanders are coming off a 1-1-1 performance at the last U16 showcase. 

The top point scorers for the Islanders are Chris Free at 11 points (1.57 ppg), Patrick O’Hara at 8 points (1.14 ppg), and Ryan Schier and Campbell St Pierre at 5 points each (.71 ppg). The Pics top point scorers are Carter Harahan at 8 points (4 ppg), and three players all at 5 points; Jan Hunor, Dominick Balboni, and Ryan Taulien (2.5 ppg).

The U16 squad then travels to the CT Junior Rangers on November 3rd for a beginning of a four-game road trip.

U15

The U15 squad plays a single game with the Palmyra Black Knights this evening. The Black Knights defeated the Pics 9-3 the last time these two teams faced.

The U15 squad returns to the Olympia for a two-game homestand against the Jersey Shore Whalers on November 16th and 17th.
