Pics’s premier squad defeat South Shore Kings 3-2 Saturday night.
Lukas Radina opened up the scoring in the final minutes of the 1st period off an interception of a clearing attempt by Gianni Rodriquez. Rodriquez played well out of his net, making a clearing attempt shortly after the Pics killed a bench minor for delay of game. Rodriquez sent the puck right to Radina’s stick, and Radina put it in the empty net. Turdjmann and Gaylor got credit for the assist as they contributed to the clearing attempt.
Radina then got his second of the night in the opening minutes of the 2nd period during a 4 on 4. Devids Jurinenokj fed the puck to a breaking Brock Baumann, who put a shot on Rodriquez who didn’t have a complete handle on the shot, and Radina was breaking down the right-wing and caught the rebound and popped the water bottle.
Pallen Brooks got the 1st goal of the night for the Kings off when the puck deflected off a Pic’s players stick when Bennett Blake made a shot attempt. Brooks was in the right place at the right time and put it behind Jonas. Roman Lamoureux got the secondary assist.
Balint Mesterhazy tied the game up at the 13:17 mark of the 3rd off a loose puck after a flurry of shot attempts that got Jonas face down on the ice. Rocco DiFazio and Bennett Blake were credited with the assists.
Max Moriarty got the game-winning goal on the power play when a shot attempt squeaked by the pads of Rodriquez and trickled into the goal. Chase Reynolds and Lukas Radina got credited with the assist.
Jonas got the win with 42 saves on 44 shots, and Rodriques got the loss with 44 saves on 47 shots.
The Premier squad continues with their homestand against the Jersey Shore Whalers in a two-game homestand, which closes out their 5 game homestand, starting on Saturday at 6:40 pm on rink 1. Action then continues on rink 2 at 3:30 pm.
