Premier Schedule Released

The Springfield Pics, proud members of the USPHL, announce the release of the 2019-2020 Premier team schedule.

The Pics open up their season with the New England Showcase on September 21st with four games total. Their first game of the season will be against the Rochester Monarchs. The Pics defeated the Rochester Monarchs last year the lone time they faced each other. The Pics then continue their showcase action against the Skipjacks Hockey Club. The Pics lost to the Skipjacks last November in their only meeting of the regular season.

Continuing on with their showcase action, they will be facing the Utica Junior Comets. Their action then concludes against the Buffalo Thunder.

The Pics are then off for a weekend before they open up a five game home stand with the beginning of their home schedule against the Philadelphia Hockey Club on October 4th and 5th. The Pics defeated the Philadelphia hockey club the lone time they faced each other. The Pics the continue with a lone game against regional rivals, the South Shore Kings on October 12th. The Kings defeated the Pics in the regular season series against the Pics last year. The Pics then end their home stand against the Jersey Shore Whalers on October 19th and 20th. 

The Pics then hit the road for a midweek game against the Connecticut Junior Rangers. The Pics defeated the Junior Rangers the lone time they faced each other last year. Continuing on the road, the Pics then face the Connecticut Nighthawks on October 26th. The two teams split last years season series. They then end their road trip with a "home and home" against the Boston Bandits with the away portion being October 27th, and the home side November 3rd. These two teams also split their season series. 

The Pics then have a lone game against the Nighthawks on November 9th. They then play another game against the Junior Rangers on the 10th. 

The Pics then have a showcase of games at the Skate 3 Area on November 16th against the Charleston Colonials, regional rivals the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs, newcomers Fort Wayne Spacemen, and the Jersey Hitmen. The Pics dropped both lone games to the Junior Monarchs and the Hitmen last year.

The Pics then continue on the road November 22nd and 23rd against the Philadelphia Hockey Club. 

The Pics are then off for the Thanksgiving break and return to the ice December 8th against the Boston Bandits. The Pics return to the friendly confines of the Olympia on December 14th against the South Shore Kings on the home end of a home and home series, with the other end played the next afternoon.

The Pics have two lone games before the end of the holiday season against the Jersey Shore Whalers on December 20th and 21st.

The Pics are then off until Jan 4th for another showcase series. The will be facing teams from the Midwest and Southeast. The Lansing Wolves, Minnesota Blue Ox, Minnesota Mullets, and the Tampa Bay Juniors.

The Pics then return to the Olympia for a final six game home stand. They will be facing the Boston Bandits on January 11th, the Connecticut Junior Rangers on the 12th, the New York Aviators on January 17th and 18th in which the Aviators took the lone game last year, the Connecticut Junior Rangers on the 19th, and the Connecticut Nighthawks on the 26th for the last Pics home game of the season.

The Pics then hit the road for their last eight games, with the final four being part of a showcase. The Pics will face the South Shore Kings on January 29th, the Connecticut Nighthawks on January 31st, and a two game series against the New York Aviators on February 8th and 9th. The final four games are scheduled to be on February 15th against the Islanders Hockey Club, the New Jersey Rockets, the Twin City Thunder, and the Utica Junior Comets.

All home games that are on rinks 1 and 2 will be webcasted on HockeyTV with Eric Richardson, veteran hockey broadcaster providing play by play and commentary.
