JUNIOR PICS SWEEP EXETER FOR IJHL TITLE CROWN

The Springfield Junior Pics Super Elite team defeated the Exeter Freeze team in an exciting best-of-3 game series. On Friday night, the Pics let the Freeze back into the game late to tie the game 2-2. But on the opening face-off of the overtime period, the Junior Pics scored 8 seconds into overtime to take the game and sending the crowd into a frenzy.

Leading the series 1-0, both teams patiently waited for over an hour for officials to arrive to start game two. Game two would be a battle once again! Exeter came out strong and built a 2-0 lead, but the Junior Pics would not let up and tied the game late in the second period.

In the third period, the Pics proved why they would eventually become IJHL Champions once again by scoring 3 goals to take the lead and the series. The coaching staff kept the team focused early in the season despite a rough start and finshed with 13 straight victories prior to starting the the 2008 playoffs.
