EJHL All-Star Rosters Announced

The Eastern Junior Hockey League 2012 EJHL All-Star Game, took place on Monday, January 16, at the Tri-Town Ice Arena in Hooksett, NH. Forward Tyler Bouchard represented the Springfield Pics on the South's roster in the All-Star game. Matt Antonacci and Chris Sattler represented the Pics in the EMPIRE League All-Star game also held today in NH. In the EMPIRE Futures Game the Pics sent Bryce Peritz, Billy Carrabino, Willy Smith, Andy Provost and Logan Schinabeck.

Three EJ Pics Top Scoring Leaders

The Eastern Junior Hockey Leagues top scoring leaders include our very own Pics in the 7th, 8th and 9th slots. Tyler Bouchard, Joe Giordano and Matt Coleman represent the Pics with an impressive combination of 52 goals and 87 assists. Giordano helped his cause with an impressive showing this past weekend scoring 4 goals and 1 assist on Sunday against visiting Philadelphia Revolution.
EJ and Empire Pics Head to Winter Showcase

The showcase is hosted by the Eastern Junior Hockey League, the premiere junior hockey league in the Eastern United States. The event includes all fourteen of our teams, as well as teams from the EJHL South, Empire Junior Hockey League, AJHL, Met League, and Prep and U18 teams. The tournament will feature a number of Canadian junior and CEGEP teams. The event will be held from January 6-8 at the New England Sports Center, in Marlborough, MA.
Moorhouse EMPIRE Player of the Week
EMPIRE (11.11.2011)
Evan Moorhouse came into the Bay State game 5 minutes into action after the Breakers came out flying scoring 2 quick goals but Moorhouse came in and shut the door stopping all 34 shots he faced. He kept the Breakers off the score board and allow the Pics offense to chip away and eventually to a 6-2 victory in an always tough place to play Rockland.
Moorhouse EMPIRE Player of the Week
EMPIRE (10.28.2011)
Evan Moorhouse had his best game of the season as he stopped 38 Boston Bandits shots while allowing only one goal. He was most impressive in the 3rd period stopping a 17 Bandits shots and preserving the one goal lead. It was a performance the team needed to get out of their 3 game slump.
Bouchard EJHL Offensive Player of the Week
EMPIRE (10.19.2011)
Tyler Bouchard had an outstanding weekend, collecting eight points in the Pics’ two wins over Philadelphia. On Saturday 10/15/11, he recorded a hat trick and added an assist. He kept up the pace on Sunday with two goals and two assists. The Glastonbury, CT, native currently sits sixth in the EJHL with 19 points and second in goals with 11.
Sattler EMPIRE Player of the Week
EMPIRE (10.21.2011)
Chris Sattler continued his strong play with 4 goals and 3 assist in 3 games this past weekend. In game 1 against Maksymum, Sattler got the Pics started with the first goal of the game and added a power play goal in the second period. In game 2 against Salem Ice Dogs, Sattler was in on all the scoring. He had a PP goal and 2 assists. In game 3 against the Boston Bandits, Sattler again was in on all scoring with a goal and PP assist.
EJ Pics Goalie Defensive Player of the Week

Linus Lundin had an outstanding series against the South Shore Kings, stopping 86 of 90 shots in two games. He started off the series with a 44-save outing, leading to a 5-1 win. In the second game, he turned away 38 of the Kings’ 42 attempts. The Stockholm, Sweden, native currently sits fourth in the EJHL with a .931 save percentage.
EJ Pics Compete in Bruins Showcase with Pair of Wins
Marlboro, MA (9.25.2011)
The EJHL Springfield Pics started out the season with high hopes and a team destined for greatness built around speed. Sometimes greatness comes with time but this team has quickly matured over the last four games with an epic win over Green Mountain Glades and a stacked New Hampshire Monarchs team to bring their record to an even 2-2. On Saturday, the Pics behind goalie Linus Lundin (31 saves) played to a tie at the end of regulation time. Matthew Coleman scored in the first period as each team skated to a tie at the end of each period. Tyler Gjurich with assists from Giordano and Bouchard, tied the game to send it to OT. Newcomer Jeff Alderfer scored at the 0:49 mark in OT for the win.
The Pics ended the weekend with Corbin McGuire (1 goal/1 assist) putting it past Monarch goalie Flachsbinder at 11:48 in the 1st period. Matthew Coleman took advantage of a Monarchs hooking penalty with an assist from Giordano and McGuire. Tyler Gjurich, Austin Orszulak, and Tyler Bouchard rounded out the scoring as the Pics scored four goals in the second period. Despite a penalty filled second period the Pics held the Monarchs power play to 0-7. Pics goalie Linus Lundin saw a total of 32 shots to shut out the Monarchs.
