Another back has become ready for this year's squad. This time it's 21-year-old Adam Berglin as chalk on. He grew up in Umeå and raised in MYOB, where he played alongside Bjorn Hjärpe that we know of since his season in Field / Strängnäs.

When we got hold of Adam by phone, as he describes himself as a skate strong back, with pretty good hockey sense. He's a big guy with his 191 cm and 97 kg, and he welcomes the judgment of major new attack zones (new this year) that he thinks will suit him well. Especially good actually because his last years season played out across the Atlantic in USPHL Elite where he played in the top team the Springfield Jr. Pics. The team won the playoffs in their league, and finished third in the "Nationals", a tournament where only the best teams they can join in and play. Bruce Landon Comments on Lundin
masslive.com Article by Bruce Landon, Springfield Falcons (10.1.2013) (Republican file photo by Don Treeger)

Springfield Pics star goaltender Linus Lundin has signed an Amateur Tryout (ATO) agreement with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League. Lundin will report to Falcons' camp in the coming days. In this day and age of every National Hockey League team having scouts watching almost every league there is in hockey, very seldom does a player fly under the radar. We may have an exception in young goaltender Linus Lundin.

A few weeks prior to Springfield Falcons training camp, I received a call from Pat Tabb, who coaches the Springfield Jr. Pics. Pat was wondering if I could arrange for a tryout in one of the lower leagues for his young goalie from Sweden. At the same time, I knew we were going to need someone for a few days of our camp until Columbus made their final cuts. However, I never invite a player to camp unless I do my homework, which means speaking to a few people who have seen the player. I certainly appreciated Pat's recommendation, but I needed someone to endorse the player who was not as connected to him.
