Strale to Elmira
EJ Pics Announce Seventh College Commitment

The Springfield Pics are proud to announce that Jesper Strale has committed to ECAC West power Elmira College for the fall of 2010. Strale, a native of Uppsala, Sweden finished second on the Pics in scoring with 45 points. His 27 goals ranked ninth in the EJHL.

“I would like to thank Coach Tabb and Coach Daniels for everything they have done, from the moment I landed in the States for the first time they made me feel at home. I would also like to thank my family for their support and my Pics teammates.” Said Strale.

Strale had several Division III and a few Division I programs with interest. Elmira competes in the highly competitive ECAC West, making it to the League Championship game and advancing to the NCAA tournament Quarterfinals this season. They have a long standing tradition as a college hockey power moving several players on to the professional ranks.

“Elmira is getting an immediate impact player, we are so happy for Jesper and what he was able too accomplish this season. Coming over from Sweden to the U.S. for the first time he was able to adapt not only to the changes in the style of play, but also the vast cultural differences. He is headed to a program with the opportunity to compete for a NCAA National Championship all four years. We wish him the best of luck.” said Coach Tabb.
